British Standards Institution approves Marston Group for BS OHSAS 18001
Marston Group ("Marston") is pleased to announce that it has successfully upheld the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation with British Standards Institution, following a six-monthly surveillance visit.
The assessment mainly focussed on Marston's enforcement agents' awareness regarding all health and safety standards associated with their roles. In addition, an on street surveillance visit also took place with an assessor shadowing an agent for two hours.
To meet the standard, Marston had to produce evidence that clearly demonstrated that the following operational controls were implemented in the company's policies and procedures:
- a review of the Driving at Work Policy
- a formal incident reporting system
- a review of risk assessments (generic distress risk assessment, ANPR risk assessment)
An internal audit was also conducted to prove that Marston had evaluated compliance of all processes and systems against the relevant health and safety legal and other requirements.
Commenting on the successful outcome, Russ Poulter, Marston's Audit and Compliance Director said: "The continuous list of accreditations not only demonstrates Marston's commitment to present its services in the upmost professional manner, but also sets a standard for the enforcement sector overall.
I would like to thank all staff, especially the enforcement agent who offered to participate in the assessment. Marston strongly believes in continuously training its staff throughout their career. This has clearly been demonstrated, as our agents are more than aware of the health and safety requirements to competently manage all situations that result in minimising risk to themselves or other individuals concerned."
