Marston publishes Grant Thornton client account confirmation

Marston Group (Marston) recently appointed Grant Thornton to review the Group's client accounts as at 21 July 2011 (the most recent bank covenant compliance date).

Grant Thornton has now confirmed in writing that the balances held in our clients accounts were equal to, or greater than, monies owed to the Group's clients at that date. Our reconciliation processes and procedures were also reviewed, and Grant Thornton has also confirmed that these were operating effectively at the review date.

In another first for the enforcement industry, Marston has decided to publish Grant Thornton's client account confirmation. We are now in discussions with Grant Thornton regarding quarterly reviews of our client accounts, and we commit to publishing client account confirmations on a quarterly basis moving forward.

Gareth Hughes, Marston Deputy Chief Executive, comments that: "We are absolutely committed to being an open and transparent organisation. Full disclosure builds public trust and confidence, and it is essential that clients have confidence that their monies are properly protected. We demonstrate this by having these accounts reviewed on a quarterly basis by a leading audit firm, and by publishing the results."
