Marston Group is proud to announce that its bespoke Foundation Theory Course and new training facility have both received reaccreditation from City & Guilds.

Originally accredited in August 2008, the Foundation course provides a clear overview of the enforcement sector to all new staff. Subject matters such as laws and procedures involved with enforcement, identifying vulnerable debtors and Health and Safety are taught by our in-house CIPD accredited trainer, Vince O'Dwyer.

Representatives from City & Guilds visited Marston Group's offices and spoke to individual members of staff to compile an extensive report, which included the following positive comments:

"As the title indicates this is a theory based course and a wide range of knowledge is covered. Very detailed pre-course reading is provided with the Welcome Pack and delivery is by way of power point presentations, video clips, discussions and exercises. This provides a good variety of training methods and the high rate of successful completions suggests that the method of delivery is appropriate.

It is clear from discussions with staff and records inspected that a high priority is given to ensuring the quality of training."

Marston Group has been working in partnership with the Security Industry Authority (SIA) on a project to develop Licence Linked Competencies and Qualifications for Enforcement Agents. In addition to working alongside Skills for Security to create National Occupational Standards for the sector prior to the development of a new programme that will provide suitable training for enforcement staff to act safely and in an ethical manner.

Commenting on the reaccreditation Russ Poulter, Marston Group's Director of Audit and Compliance said: "Formal recognition from highly reputable organisations such as City & Guilds is always welcome. The investment, commitment and encouragement of Marston Group staff at all levels has been worthwhile. We are continuously enhancing our training programme through the expertise and knowledge of those who work in the sector, so that our agents can continue to work in a safe and efficient manner."
